In praise of rain drops by Maud Tardieu, for Patrice Tardieu.
« The water drops on the water of the stone enjoyed themselves, bumping into one another, playing, singing and congratulating, splashing, joining together and disappearing, then taking it up again more than ever, humming like a tear the non-breaking, softly, under the small drops which scattered asking for other drops of water. What a jubilation to see that life owing to the rain! ».
« And the water drop in the gutter followed the swelling slope; it was a real joy to follow it up. »
« The rain drops seemed to request to enter by rolling on the window pane, nearly bursting out laughing. They wanted to show that they could without strain untiringly repeat their request ».
Maud Tardieu
